9th Chairman's Blog - February 2012

World Cup teams

Hey guys! So this is the 1st blog of my 2nd term as BFA Chair and the 2012-13 committee. Much like this time last year, which certainly doesn’t feel like a year ago, this will mainly be a brief outline of some of the changes the 2012 AGM brought. So the 2012-13 committee are;

• Chair - Joe Bundy
• Treasurer - John Worthington
• Vice-Chair - Boris Atha
• General Secretary - Christopher Lyall
• Women’s Officer - Mayya Racy
• EC Member - Au Chee Meng
• EC Member - Stephen Lyall
• EC Member – Jonathan May
• EC Member - Andrew Nubbert

Hey guys. This is going to be a bit of a one-track blog focusing on the issues surrounding this year’s UKC. The forum announcement is here - http://forum.britfoos.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=9156 .

So, the situation right now is that we’re having a Garlando only UKC. I have been asked to explain why this is the case, so here I will try my best to do so.

7th Chairman's Blog - October 2011

Hey guys. I know it’s been a while since my last update, but I came to realise that monthly updates may not be the most appropriate format for this blog. Rather, I’ll post a new article whenever there is enough to warrant the time you take to read this. Now this isn’t to say that there hasn’t been much activity over the last 2 months, but often it is a case of what takes my time as chair would be of little interest and only take up one or two sentences of content for this blog – just general query answering, and sorting out a recent corporate event for example.

Hey guys, sorry for the lateness of this month’s blog. A currently inescapable fact of the BFA is that we, as a committee, are a voluntary organisation. We all ( well, we’ll give the recent post-grads a little more time to join the rest of us ;) ) have full time jobs, and lives, but we do try to give what time we have to do everything we need to. We do occasionally have most of us together, like at Isha, where we can have a bit of a get together in person rather than just over the committee forum. There was one photo taken of the last one, for anyone interested - http://bit.ly/qkm3vz.

5th Chairman's blog - June 2011

Hey guys!

Just as I sat down to write this month’s blog, I had the Queen’s club tennis on the telly. In between the 2 semi-finals there was an interview with the tournament director, hardly in-depth or particularly interesting but there was one bit that made me smile. The TD was congratulated for 2 Britons reaching the semi-finals. After 2 years of TD’ing I would never have expected to be thanked for an underdog or the local guys doing well. Now though….If Sanjay wins OS at Isha then I expect at least some credit ;)

Hey guys. Did plan on getting this one out last week, but with a few new announcements there is even more to talk about now.

3rd Chairman's blog - April 2011

Bath Open

Hey guys!

It’s the third instalment of this blog now, and at the point where I’m starting to think this might be a tad arrogant – advertising my rambling…but I’ll just push through that. Still it is a nice way to push across what I think are the prime issues in our foos world, which I hope will bring them to the attention of more people.

Chairmans Blog: Group Work

Hey guys! Time for the next Chair’s blog. Sorry it’s a little delayed, been a busy time in the first weeks of this new committee where we’ve had lots of ideas for the progression of our game – which I can have no complaints about. Though I am rather busy in this role, I have recently ordered a load of fancy business cards as chair to just make me feel important to balance this out.

Chairmans Blog: Joe Bundy

Hi Guys! One of the things myself, and the new Committee members, promised before the AGM is to increase the communication between ourselves and the player base. This blog is one way we will be doing this, so keep looking out for my blog updates, keeping you in touch with all the important news and progress the Committee makes.
