World Cup 2009 Team Selection: Apply Now

The 2nd International Table Soccer Federation World Cup
Nantes, France, 8th-11th January 2009.

With the UK Championships approaching to decide who will qualify for World Championships, it's time to start the selection process for the team that will represent Great Britain in the World Cup. Unlike the first World Cup, there will be separate Men's and Women's teams. Including reserves that's a possible 18 places up for grabs!

The ITSF will not be subsidising the travel or accommodation costs of competitors, and currently no sponsorship has been obtained for Team GB. Although this situation may change, players must be able to pay their own way.

Stage 1. Apply to be on the team! – Closing Date Saturday 27th September 2008

The first stage is simple, you have one month to register your interest in playing for Team GB.

What Next?

Once applications have been processed, the two squads will be picked by Rob Atha, the U.K.'s most experienced player and current World Number 3, and ratified by the BFA Committee, over the months leading up to the World Cup.

The selection of teams will involve a number of stages, all of which will be explained in full and made as transparent as possible.

If you have any questions, feel free to email them to the above address.
Crucially, there is still time to prove yourself, so get practicing!

Good Luck Everyone!

(On behalf of the BFA Committee)
