The BFA is pleased to be able to announce the details of the team selected to play at the ITSF World Cup in Germany, 25 - 28 May 2006.

The British team was selected by Team Capitain and UK No 1, Rob Atha, and ratified by the BFA Committee. I hope everyone everyone can join me in wishing them all the best of luck!

Men

  • Rob Atha (Team Captain)
  • Tich Degun
  • Sanjay Kumar
  • Rhys Roberts
  • Alex Shovelton
  • Juj Sohi
  • Bruce Jassal (Reserve)

Women

  • Hannah Ramlee
  • Caroline Wong
  • Cath Brown (Reserve)

Team Coach

  • Martyn Harris

BFA Representative

  • Dave Oates

It is fair to say that this is a hugely prestigous event, and there will be many people disappointed not to have been selected. Ultimately there were only 10 places and someone had to make the tough choice over selection. I hope the team members realise how important it is to use the next 2 months to really practice hard, so they can go out to Germany razor sharp and really kick some foos butt!

A formal press release will follow. Enquiries about event organisation and details should be directed to Rhys. Sponsorship enquiries should be directed to Oatesey. Media enquiries should be directed to Mase.

Thanks,
Richard Thomson
BFA Chairman

Due to unfortunate circumstances 2 of the players had to pull out of the squad. After lengthy discussions with team members and careful consideration Tich Degun and Sanjay Kumar were replaced by 2 players who have shown massive improvement, Skill and potential with top placings on different styles of tables this year in Singles and doubles. The 2 players are:

  • Mike Amsden
  • Joe Hamilton

Congratulations and welcome to the team.

Cheers

Rob
