Happy Holidays to everyone from Christina and myself, and best wishes for a tremendous New Year as we welcome in 2004 and the new foosball season. With the pending announcement of the Warrior tour schedule and the always-solid U.S.T.S.A. Tornado tour with their traditional annual events, the new year should be an exciting and lucrative one for tournament foosball players here in North America and all around the world.

At the recent Warrior event held in Las Vegas, Belgium's Frederic Collignon once again staked his claim as the king of the foosball world by sweeping the three main events in his usual overwhelming style. Frederico won Singles, Doubles (with Loffredo) and Mixed Doubles with girlfriend Ingrid Hauben and also added the Goalie War title to his weekend list of achievements. The steadily improving Ms. Hauben also won two other titles, as the foosball-crazy country of Belgium earned first place trophies in 7 of the 19 events. The winners from the recent Vegas event are listed in our results section below.

The 2004 regional season opens, as always, in the state of Oklahoma with the $8000 New Years Open, being held at the Tulsa Billiard Palace the weekend of January 9-11. Promoter Rex Bennett tells us that last year's event, which was advertised at $8000, paid out more than $10,000 in jackets, cash and trophies due to the outstanding player turnout. Also on the early 2004 schedule is Independent Foosball Promotions' annual Superbowl of Foosball which is offering $18,000 in cash and prizes on January 29 through February 1. You can find out more about this always exciting event by going to http://www.foosballworld.com/ifp.html.
