BFA AGM - 11 February 2006
It was a well attended agm with around 20 people present. A wide variety of issues were discussed, and overall it was a very productive afternoon followed by some enjoyable foos at the bar (followed by curry i think although i had to leave before that).
Executive Committee elections
I am pleased to be able to confirm the following people were elected to the BFA committee at the AGM (brackets denote BritFoos forum usernames):
- Chair - Richard Thomson ("Richard" formerly webmaster)
- Vicechair - Boris Atha ("boris")
- Treasurer - John Worthington ("el capitan")
- Secretary - Jude Fitzgerald ("7 of 9)
- Exec member - Dave Oates ("oatsey")
- Exec member - Rob Moss ("webmaster" formerly robmoss2k)
- Exec member - Ben Mason ("Mase")
By way of introduction to the new members of the Executive Committee and their primary roles:
- Rob Moss - BFA webmaster. This is an important role within the BFA given we are a primarily web-based organisation. I am sure we will all benefit from his expertise and input in an area that has been neglected a bit recently. Please also note that Rob has officially adopted the "webmaster" username on Britfoos.
- Dave Oates - Sponsorship. This is a role Dave has been successfully developing for some time. I hope that by working within the committee significant opportunities will arise. In the meantime, please ensure you show your support by responding when requests for experts are announced on the forums.
- Mase - Press Officer. Mase spoke convincingly at the AGM about the potential for increasing awareness, both for the BFA and table football in general, through greater interface with the press. This is another important area of focus, and we all look forward to the higher profie, increased attendence and greater profile this will bring.
I would like to extend thanks to the people standing down from the committee, Dan Gallon, Pete Ganderton and Dave Perrott. Their input over the last year(s) has been highly valuable. I also want to thank those who put themselves forward for committee posts but who were unsuccessful - I cannot remember the last time there were 6 volunteers for 3 posts!
