British Foosball Association
The Evening Standard £10,000 Charity Tournament
Friday 22nd February
The competition will take place at 18:30 at the Guildhall, London. This is
not a public tournament, but will be contested by teams drawn at random.
16 teams including a celebrity team, a Manpower team and a City of London team,
have already been drawn, out of a total field of 94 team applications!
Unfortunately, neither the BFA team nor the Café Kick team were selected.
This is being billed as "The largest Table Football tournament in the
world", because the competition will be played on the 17 rods a side table
football table which was featured at the Millennium Dome.
Each team will have 14 people - 11 players and 3 substitutes.
The winning team will receive a cheque for £10,000 to donate to the charity of
their choice and a trophy. The runners up will receive a cheque for £5,000 to
be donated to a scheme under the Corporation of London's Heart of the City
banner.
There is an entry fee of £100 per team.
The BFA will provide refereeing assistance and technical support for this
event.
