Player Rankings
The BFA maintains its own rankings for tournaments run on Garlando (+other Italian-style tables) and Tornado tables. We are happy to rank any event on any table type subject to certain eligibility criteria. To discuss this or anything else please in more detail, please email
with details.
Please note that historic rankings can be accessed via the UK Events Diary, which links to results, match reports and rankings.
BFA Garlando/FAS Rankings
The BFA revised its ranking system for Italian-style (Garlando/FAS) events in January 2003.
BFA Rankings Outline
Players start as Novices on 900 points and acquire or lose points depending on success in tournaments. Points are awarded based on finishing position, and depend on the size of the field and nature of the event. Bonus points are awarded when a lower ranked player beats a higher ranked player.
Players are promoted to Amateur status on reaching 950 points, to Semi-Pro status on reaching 1100, to Pro status on reaching 1500 points and to Pro-Master status on reaching 2000. Points are reset annually, to give greater weight to recent performance.
