Free entry and a 2-goal start attracted several novices to the competition. Khalid, after losing to Tanny sweat ball in the opening round, looked like going all the way through the losers bracket with some awesome play, but against Ed in the losers final gave back a 6 goal lead, but still looked like coming back before the final whistle.

| June 16th 2000 | Tornado Open DYPRainbow Snooker Club, ManchesterOPEN DYP
After two runners-up finishes in a row, Rob finally got his hands on a trophy
(or would have done if we had had one this month) after an unstoppable
performance, aided stoically by Alan Yu's solid defending and quick pick-up
shots. Eddie also continued his recent run of good form with Sohaib (son
of Tanny), but couldn't match Rob on the 5 or 2-bars this time, and had to
settle for 2nd place. |

| June 11th 2000 | Tornado Open DoublesRainbow Snooker Club, ManchesterOPEN DOUBLES
A hard-fought competition saw Eddie's front-pin on fire, beating all comers
from the winners bracket. Both the winners final and overall final went to
sweat ball against Rob & Dave. Tanny had a new experience - playing with
Alan Wu he was 2 and out for the first time in living memory! |

| May 23rd 2000 | FAS (Garlando Style) DYPTudor House Hotel, New Market Street, Wigan WN1 1SEOPEN DYP
The first of hopefully many FAS DYPs at the Tudor drew an enthusiastic local crowd, with the final between two teams of local heroes heard in hushed tones reminiscent of the Crucible Theatre. Both finalists had overcome hot favourites Perrott & James (Jaf) Atha to book their passage, with John & Darren coming from the losers bracket to complete a worthy win. Another sponsorship success thanks to Rolling Rock for T-shirts and other consolation prizes for less successful competitors. |

The largest BFA ranking event to date, with over 100 players taking part, with players from far and wide as well as a strong local turnout. Special thanks to Pete Harrison for organising such a great competition, and to Budweiser for the commemorative T-shirts and other goodies. |

| April 11th 2000 | Smoby Table Football ChampionshipThe Millennium Dome, Greenwich
This was the finals event of the children's national championships on the Smoby (Monneret) table, similar to a small Bonzini, with cork balls. The competition was open to all children between 7 and 11 years of age. Qualifying events took place all over the UK, with 7500 entries organised by the Community Officers of Football Clubs in association with Smoby. Local heats led to eight Regional Finals and the winners of these went through to the National Final at the Millenium Dome. The 8 finalists played in two leagues of four, the final was between the winner of each group. |
